Opportunities on the Horizon

Just wanted to take a moment to post a few ministry/fellowship opportunities that are coming up.

2-5-11 the “In His Service Team” will be in action unloading Truman and Freida Sigman’s belongings as they make the move to our beloved Chaffee! (See Phyllis Glueck for more info & times)

And on 2-12-11 @ 5 p.m. the “In His Service Team” is sponsoring our 1st ever Valentines Banquet. The dinner is a catered event, and childcare will be provided by the Youth Sunday School Class, so everyone, (the ladies) can just relax and enjoy themselves. And contrary to popular belief, this is NOT a couples only function. So, come out one and ALL and enjoy some good Christian fellowship! But don’t be surprised if we throw in a little fun along the way!

Pessimistic or Optimistic?

“HAPPY NEW YEAR!”

Another year come and gone.

And 2010 like every year before it, certainly had it’s ups and downs, didn’t it?

Remember the old adage about seeing the glass half full or half empty?

As we the Congregation of CGBC prepare to face the challenges of 2011, I’d like to encourage us for just a moment, to stop and reflect upon those we’ve made it through in 2010.

Can there be any doubt as to Who has brought us through them?

Were any of those tough times a surprise to our Father?

Were any outside of His control?

Will there be new challenges in 2011?

Do we have an enemy who walks about as a roaring lion seeking to devour us?

But He who is in us, is greater then he who is in the world!

So, let’s move forward and embrace 2011′s opportunities and challenges alike, with the half full optimistic understanding of knowing, that we can do ALL things through Jesus Christ Who strengthens us!

And, May God Bless Us Everyone!

In Christ,

Pastor Bob

November Update!

God is blessing here @ CGBC!

On October 31st in our A.M. service His blessings were apparent in the Southern Brothers concert, and the Trunk or Treat that evening was yet further evidence!

I want to thank all who participated and helped in both events.

I also want to remind everyone of our upcoming Thanksgiving Day meal, served @ 12 noon Thanksgiving Day in our Gym. This Event is open to, and for the purpose of reaching out to those who may otherwise be spending Thanksgiving alone. If you know of anyone, please help us by making them aware of this meal. We will also offering rides to anyone in the local area who may not have a way of getting here, and will have carry-out dinners to those who are home-bound.

If you don’t have a Church to call home please come and give CGBC a visit and see how God is blessing!
